View Profile →Philip Tumwizere is a growth, commercial strategy and corporate operations executive with more than a decade of experience helping organisations strengthen performance, deploy capital effectively and expand across Uganda and East Africa.
As Managing Director of Zen Advisory Group, Philip leads the firm’s strategy, institutional partnerships, enterprise-transformation, investment-readiness and market-entry mandates.
His experience includes group operations leadership at Alam Group of Companies, where he coordinated multiple business units and helped deliver an audited 25% reduction in operating expenditure, and SME investment work at Balloon Ventures across deal origination, investment assessment and post-investment enterprise support. He contributed to an active portfolio exceeding US$1 million.
Philip combines investment discipline with practical execution, helping enterprises, investors and development partners build stronger financial controls, commercial systems and operational capabilities for sustainable growth.
Mercy Tumwizere is a customer experience, retail operations and people-management professional with extensive experience leading service teams, strengthening frontline performance and improving customer-facing operations.
At Zen Advisory Group, Mercy heads the firm’s Human Resources function and leads the People, Customer Experience, Retail & Recruitment Advisory Practice. She helps organisations improve customer journeys, service systems, retail operations, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
Mercy currently serves as Customer Service Team Lead at Bukoola Chemical Industries Ltd and is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Women in Retail Africa. Her experience combines frontline service leadership, workforce coordination, customer-journey improvement, recruitment, onboarding, coaching and performance management.
Patricia Irankunda is a legal and tax professional with experience in corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, legal drafting, dispute resolution and client advisory.
At Zen Advisory Group, Patricia helps businesses, NGOs and development organisations navigate statutory obligations, strengthen governance structures and manage legal, tax and regulatory risks.
Her work covers business and NGO formalisation, URSB filings, annual returns, beneficial ownership, tax registration, NGO Bureau documentation, board governance, contracts and donor due-diligence preparation. Her earlier experience includes M/s Mutungi and Company Advocates, United Bank for Africa Uganda and the Magistrates Court in Kisoro.

Alex Kasujja
Lead, Projects, Communities & Strategic Partnerships
Alex Kasujja is a microfinance, credit and business-development professional with experience in credit operations, financial literacy, sales leadership, project coordination and client relationship management.
At Zen Advisory Group, Alex leads the firm’s Financial Inclusion, Communities & Strategic Partnerships portfolio. He oversees the Zen Business Club, Zen Career Hub, professional communities, financial-literacy programmes, stakeholder partnerships and business events.
Alex currently serves as Head of Credit at Fanaka Uganda. His earlier experience includes serving as Head of Sales at Rockfoam Industries, alongside work in project management, loan appraisal, data management and client advisory.

Makubuya Fred
Lead, Workplace Wellbeing & Employee Financial Resilience
Makubuya Fred is a clinical psychologist, Certified Life Coach and workplace wellbeing practitioner specialising in mental health, counselling, employee resilience and personal development.
At Zen Advisory Group, Fred leads the Workplace Wellbeing & Employee Financial Resilience practice. Working alongside Zen’s financial-literacy specialists, he designs integrated programmes addressing workplace stress, burnout, mental-health literacy, financial pressure, emotional intelligence and sustainable performance.
Fred is also Chief Executive Officer of Empathy International. Earlier in his career, he worked at Smart Television as a television presenter and Head of Sales, combining psychological expertise with media communication and commercial leadership.

Roger Nsabimaana
Associate Consultant – NGO & Development Sector Advisory
Roger Nsabimaana supports NGOs and development programmes in strengthening monitoring, evaluation, research, data quality and performance reporting.
At Zen Advisory Group, Roger’s work focuses on MERL system reviews, indicator development, digital data-collection tools, data cleaning and analysis, programme dashboards, donor reporting and organisational readiness assessments.
He brings practical experience from Bayport Financial Services Uganda and earlier work with Simba Motorcycles and the Uganda Bureau of Statistics. His combined experience helps organisations turn programme information into credible evidence and better decisions.
